Content Knowledge
There is a strong relationship between teachers’ content knowledge and the achievement of their students. One of my main goals as a teacher is to make the content meaningful to my students. In order to do so, I must have a deep understanding of the subject matter and a deep understanding of the curriculum and state standards. Auburn University's Education Program has given me an insight into the world of connecting curriculum to fun and engaging activities through the use of technology and other materials. You will see some of these examples below.
Attached here is a Unit Plan on Life Cycles that I created alongside 3 other future teachers in my cohort. We put together 8 days of activities for our students! I contributed lessons 1 and 2! I hope you enjoy!
During my junior year at Auburn, I took a class on Health Education and Physical Education in Elementary Schools. While in this class, I had to write many lesson plans that incorporated physical activity into the classroom. Here is a portfolio of a lesson plan for each subject area!
