Professionalism

As a teacher, I must work with my colleges in order to continue to learn. I must strive to better myself so that my classroom will be a place where students can achieve. It is so important that I stay up to date on issues going on in our nation and in my community. I must be informed of the things going on around me so that I can be an activist for my students.

In my Introduction to Elementary Education class, we got to do a Literature Circle. We read the book "We Want To Do More Than Survive" by Bettina L. Love. We talked in our literature circle about what stuck out to us in each chapter. Here is an infographic that my group made of our favorite quotes from the book. I am also attaching one of our Literature Circle Role Sheets!

School Children

Also in my Introduction to Elementary Education class, we did a project where we chose an issue happening in our nation and took a stand on it. The issue that I chose was online vs. in person school due to COVID. I created an awareness poster on the topic and sent a survey to several parents in my community to see their thoughts. Here is a reflection on the findings from my survey!
