Diversity

In my classroom, I want students to be able to celebrate their differences. Throughout my time at Auburn University, I have been given the opportunity to interact with students of different races, genders and social backgrounds. This has taught me the importance of diversity, and has shown me how beautiful it is when people from all over come together.

During my freshman year at Auburn, I had the privilege of taking COUN 2000. This class was all about living and communicating in a diverse society. During this class I had the opportunity to do service learning at the Boys and Girls Club. Here is a paper that I wrote on my experience.

During my sophomore year at Auburn University, I took a class called "Diversity of Learners and Settings". In this class we got to create an activity for our future students that allows them to be immersed into a culture other than their own. Here is my Inclusion Activity.

Throughout "Diversity of Learners and Settings", we completed 25 service learning hours. I did my hours at Covington Pre-School. I am so thankful for my time at Covington. Here are some of my reflection papers from this class and from time at Covington.
